What’s It Like Working With a Website Designer?

If you need a website, you might be wondering what web designers do and how a web designer can help you create a great website for your business.

I can’t tell you what it’s like working with every designer, but here are the steps when you work with me to create your website.

1. Schedule a discovery call.

During this get-to-know-you call, we will hop on Zoom so I can learn about your business, discuss your goals for your business website, talk about websites you love so we can get inspiration, and anything else you think I need to know about your business and your customers. Then I will send you a comprehensive proposal so you know exactly what to expect for your new website.

2. Send me your materials (such as logos and photos).

You send me the wording you’d like used on your site, any graphics, purchase codes for products and services, and anything else I need to build your site. Don’t have that? No problem — if you need photos, copy, or any other materials, we’ll talk about it during the discovery call and you’ll see that in your proposal.

3. Review a homepage preview.

Before we get too far into the process, I’ll create a preview of your homepage for you to review. This gives you a chance to make sure I’m on the right track for you and make any adjustments needed.

4. Wait for me to build your site.

This is the easiest part of the process for you, because I’m doing all the work. I’ll create a framework and navigation, then I’ll add your photos, logos, and other content. If I’m creating content, my team and I will do that too! I’ll then send you the final site for your final review.

Once you sign off on the design and content, I will do a full quality control audit to ensure that everything works as intended and the SEO is optimized for Google and other search engines. Once this is complete, I’ll connect the new site to your domain.

5. Launch and celebrate!

Once your site is live, you can share it with your clients, followers, family and friends — and enjoy the positive feedback! Feel free to share any of that with me, as I love seeing how a fresh new website can help build your business.
